Last updated: September 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how ZippByte collects, uses, and shares information when you visit https://zippbyte.com/, contact us, or subscribe to ZippByte Weekly.

Information We Collect

Information you provide

When you use the Contact page, we collect the information you submit, which may include your name, email address, message, and confirmation that you have read this Privacy Policy.

When you subscribe to ZippByte Weekly, we collect your email address and subscription information. Our newsletter provider may also process technical and engagement information associated with your subscription, such as signup time, IP address, browser or device information, email delivery status, and link or message interactions, depending on its settings and your email software.

Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, health information, government identification numbers, or other sensitive information through the Contact form.

Information collected automatically

When you visit ZippByte, our hosting and website systems may automatically record standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, referring page, and the date and time of a request. This information may be used in server logs for website delivery, security, troubleshooting, and performance.

How We Use Information

We may use information to:

  • Respond to questions, corrections, or other messages you send us.
  • Send ZippByte Weekly and manage newsletter subscriptions.
  • Operate, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the website.
  • Understand website usage and newsletter delivery or engagement.
  • Prevent misuse, spam, fraud, or security incidents.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights.

ZippByte does not sell or rent your personal information.

Newsletter and Kit

ZippByte Weekly is provided through Kit, formerly known as ConvertKit. When you subscribe, your email address and related subscription information are sent to and processed by Kit on ZippByte’s behalf. Kit may use cookies, unique identifiers, web beacons, and similar technologies when providing its services.

You can unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in newsletter emails. You may also contact ZippByte to request removal from the mailing list.

For more information about Kit’s practices, see Kit’s Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum.

Hosting and Service Providers

ZippByte is hosted using Hostinger services and runs on WordPress. Hostinger and other technical service providers may process limited information as needed to host the site, deliver forms and pages, provide security, maintain backups, and troubleshoot problems.

These providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. For more information about Hostinger’s practices, see Hostinger’s Privacy Policy.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the rights or safety of ZippByte or others, or as part of a business reorganization or transfer. We do not authorize service providers to use personal information for purposes unrelated to the services they provide to ZippByte.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

ZippByte and its service providers may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary to operate forms, maintain security, remember technical preferences, and deliver the newsletter service. Kit may also use tracking technologies connected with subscription and email delivery or engagement.

You can accept, reject, or customize optional cookies through the cookie notice. You can later change your choice through the site’s cookie settings. You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies or scripts may prevent parts of the website or newsletter signup form from working correctly.

Google Analytics

ZippByte uses Google Analytics 4, a website measurement service provided by Google, to understand how visitors find and use the site. Google Analytics may collect information such as pages viewed, interaction events, approximate geographic location, referring pages, browser and device information, and a pseudonymous client identifier. Google Analytics uses first-party cookies, including _ga and a property-specific _ga_<container-id> cookie, to distinguish users and sessions.

Google uses IP addresses during collection to derive approximate location and route data, then discards raw IP addresses before the data is logged in Google Analytics. ZippByte uses Analytics data for audience and content measurement, not for personalized advertising. ZippByte does not send names, email addresses, Contact-form messages, or newsletter addresses to Google Analytics.

Analytics storage remains disabled until a visitor grants analytics consent. Visitors can later withdraw that consent through the site’s cookie settings. You can also use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

For more information, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

We retain Contact-form information only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the request, maintain appropriate records, resolve disputes, protect the website, or comply with legal obligations.

Newsletter subscription information is generally retained while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe or request deletion, we will take reasonable steps to remove or suppress the information as appropriate, subject to legal requirements, provider procedures, and limited backup or suppression records needed to honor your request.

Google Analytics user-level and event-level data associated with cookies or identifiers is configured for a 14-month retention period. Aggregated reporting may be retained separately by Google Analytics.

Your Choices and Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information. You may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To make a privacy request, use the Contact page and begin your message with “Privacy request.” We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Applicable law may permit or require us to retain certain information or decline part of a request.

You may stop newsletter marketing messages at any time by selecting the unsubscribe link in any ZippByte Weekly email.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect personal information. No website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children’s Privacy

ZippByte is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Links to Other Websites

ZippByte articles may link to websites or services operated by other organizations. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices, services, or legal obligations change. The “Last updated” date at the top will show when the policy was most recently revised. Material changes may also be highlighted on the website when appropriate.
